British Skin Foundation’s Battle of the DermSocs (BOTDS) 2022-23 winners announced

On Tuesday 4th July 2023, the winners of the British Skin Foundation’s Battle of the DermSocs (BOTDS) 2022-23 were announced. This annual fundraising initiative, supported by Cinapsis, unites
dermatology societies from universities across the UK to compete to raise the
most amount of money for skin disease research. The BOTDS fundraising challenge kicked off last October, with 17 teams from across the country organising a series of activities such as raffles, quizzes and conferences over the past nine months. With the final fundraising deadline on 16th June, the total amount raised has now been tallied up...

Overall, these teams collectively raised an amazing £4,901.

Why are Cinapsis supporting BOTDS?

At Cinapsis, we are very concerned about the rising skin cancer rates in the UK, which have more than doubled over the past 30 years.Additionally, patients with suspected skin cancer are facing some of the longest wait times for specialistcare. In light of these challenges, research plays a vital role infinding innovative ways to diagnose and treat various skin diseases, including
cancer. Funding more research is the key to improving patient outcomes and recovery.

Our team at Cinapsis is committed to facilitating faster access to urgent care. Therefore, we’ve taken great pride in supporting this year's Battle of the DermSocs. Throughout the competition, we have witnessed the great commitment displayed by dermatology societies across the UK. Their collective efforts in raising funds and raising awareness for vital skin disease research have been truly
inspiring.

"We are especially grateful to Cinapsis for their generous sponsorship of the Battle of the DermSocs event, our annual fundraising initiative. This collaborative effort brings together dermatology societies from across the UK, united in their mission to raise funds for vital skin disease research. By supporting initiatives like Battle of the DermSocs, Cinapsis demonstrates their commitment not only to teledermatology but also to the advancement of scientific knowledge and breakthroughs in the field of dermatology. The British Skin Foundation is proud to collaborate with Cinapsis and other partners who share our vision, as together, we strive to empower healthcare professionals, improve patient experiences, advance research, and make a lasting impact in the fight against skin diseases."
